Our Mission
The mission of The Open Pantry is to relieve hunger in our community. We aim to connect people to a variety of filling, nutritious, and culturally-appropriate food as well as to other community resources; to advocate on behalf of those in need locally, statewide, and nationally; and to engage with others in building food security.

Our Story
The Open Pantry was founded in Lowell in 1981 from an outgrowth of local church groups who saw a need in the community for short-term food assistance.
What We Do
We provide short-term food assistance to those in need who reside in the Greater Lowell area. As the oldest food pantry in the area, we understand the reasons for need are numerous.
Our Team
The Open Pantry of Greater Lowell is run by a dedicated team of volunteers. Daily operations and organizational development are managed by our Executive Director.
